Is There Something You Have Always Wanted To Do But Haven’t?

Next week is my last week at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. I still have a project to hand in and skills to pass. But If all goes well on June 11th, I will be stepping onto the stage as a 4th –year -student and walking off the stage as a Certified Brennan Healing Science Practitioner, diploma in hand. Fingers crossed!

Appreciation at a Red Light

I teach meditation in a city with a high homeless population. I drive by homeless people almost every day. On the way home tonight I noticed a couple on the side of the road who were obviously without a home. Oddly, I didn’t notice any homeless people on my way to class. They must have been there but I was not. I was somewhere else off in my mind.

The Cone of Perception and Brennan Healing Science

The dinosaur exhibit at the Museum of Science

 

I went to the Boston Museum of Science yesterday for the first time in years. I watched kids play and experiment with their senses at the Take a Closer Look Exhibit.

 

The exhibit description read “Exercise your powers of perception to see what you can discover when you pay attention to your senses, and learn about ways technology can extend our reach beyond what we can perceive on our own. Explore the world around you using sight, hearing, touch, and smell. To supplement our own bodies’ capabilities, we have developed technologies to help us extend our senses — to help us perceive things that are too fast, too small, too far away, or invisible to the naked eye.”

Bring Back the Fun!

Fun and play seem to fall away as we grow into adulthood. Our schedules are packed with responsibilities that weren’t there when we were younger. Many of these responsibilities bring us joy and a sense of accomplishment but for me, it can feel like I judge the worth of my day by counting how many of the boxes on my daily to-do list get checked off.
